Dr. Gregory Gasic is the Primary Author and the co-founder of VMedX, a leading platform for medical practitioners seeking virtual medical assistance expertise. He founded the company with his brothers, one of whom is also a doctor.

He is a retired neuroscientist with over three decades of experience turned author and journal editor. Dr. Gregory earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania in 1977 and his PhD at Rockefeller University in 1988. While getting his PhD, he attended Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, and Virology seminars. He then carried out his postdoctoral work at Yale University.

Dr. Gregory’s research covers multiple grounds. He has published papers covering the Coronavirus disease, the effects of various addictions, memory, and related disorders. Dr. Gregory has also worked with his father on cancer research papers and grant proposals. Since 1993, he has been on the Editorial Board for multiple medical journals, including the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, Neuron, and the Journal of Neuroscience.

While he was the Editor-in-chief of Neuron, his work helped shape the course of neuroscience from the biophysics of ion channels to the systems involved in memory, perception, goal-directed behavior, attention, and other higher cognitive functions.

Adding to Dr. Gregory’s work, he taught at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was an Instructor from 1976 to 1977. He also taught at Harvard Medical School from 2001 to 2008. During his time at this prestigious institution, he has been a Visiting Scientist, an Instructor, and an Assistant Professor for the Department of Neurobiology and the Department of Radiology. From 2020 to 2022, he was also an Assistant Research Professor for the Department of Physics at the University of Houston.

He is a member of the Board of Directors at the Chintimini Wildlife Center and the Biomedical Research Advisor at the Istituto di Neuroscienze. Dr. Gregory Gasic is also a Scientific Consultant in Physics & Theoretical Biology. He currently resides in Houston.
